Web Design & Development by Downscale Designs
I’m not a big fan of sites that suck one into an neverending morass. Nor can I stand flashy whiz bang twirly-whirlies on web pages. And I abhor sites that take more than five seconds to catch my fancy and create an intuitive sense of how to navigate around the place. I also like them when they’re easy on the eye and tell a story. And with that in mind, I began developing sites for various friends, family members, and other folks I’m connected with. Some of them are shown below, and clicking the image will take you to the current of that version site.
Of the sites shown above, several are provided for free and some for barter. Others represent an ongoing professional relationship that provides some income; for two, I simply got them launched and then taught the owner/s how to do everything on their own; and lastly, a couple are in the early stages of development. The approach taken depended upon what was deemed the most practical for their particular circumstances; and the choice was theirs to make.
I’m especially proud of the recognition the Maine Woodturners site earned in 2007. It certainly validated the effort, but it also introduced me to the concept of “what’s next?”.
So... Here’s what’s next, and it’s based on the simple principle that I enjoy designing, building, and maintaining web sites - and want to do more. So I’m hanging this shingle out and making myself available to all who are interested. If you’d like to explore having me do a site with you (under any of the scenarios noted above - except for maybe that free one) and if your preferences for the site include concepts such as: appealing to the eye; easy to navigate; and generates interest in your endeavor - then please pick up the phone and let’s talk about it.
Or you can click here to get an overview of things for you to consider before you call.
